Odd Pliers

Any clues as to what these pliers are for. They look like they are for pressing together some sort of fitting.

What does the inside of the cup on the bottom jaw look like? Does it have three holes to match the prongs on the top jaw? Or a slot? Or round cavity?

Poppers or snap fasteners. Those pop together fastenings on anoraks.

More likely larger lift the dot fasteners used on convertible roofs, tonneau covers and similar large, heavy materials.
