Hi All,

Got this at a flea market over the weekend, its in a bit of a state but judging by the first cylinder I have cleaned up it looks like it will come back from the dead.

I have absolutely no idea what this loco is, whether it is scratch built or a known type. The width between the wheel flanges is 3 1/2".

The boiler part seems very well made indeed and I was told that the project was started many years ago by the guys father?

Any help much appreciated.

I think your locomotive is PV Baker, design by LBSC. Drawings and castings are available.

Martin – The cylinder piston type valve and shape of cylinder casting should narrow your search somewhat. I would guess that the alternative slide valves designs on a 3.5" gauge set of loco castings are more numerous. Good luck.

Looking at the second picture bottom right hand corner there appears to be two Baker valve sets and so I would say that it is LBSCs PV Baker loco. Castings etc still available from Reeves
