New member intro from the Camberley area

Hi folks. As a new member I currently live in the Camberley Surrey area although in ’26 I will be moving to pastures new in Essex to be nearer my son.

Workshop: I have a very old Atlas 6″ lathe with a modern Warco mill.

I have a 3/4. complete alchin which has completely stalled through my married life and now that my wife has died and the kids have flown the nest I’ve returned to my teenage enjoyment of gauge 0 railways.

In a 24×12 shed in the garden I have my fine scale DCC layout of Lambourn in the 1958-60 period whilst in the garden is a stud contact 3 rail coarse scale layout.

Current workshop projects include an L&YR High flyer with moving internal joy valve gear and a live steam unmodified Royal Scot.

Hopes for our new format magazine is of course an article on an 0 gauge live steamer

Stud contact layouts must be pretty rare nowadays. And live steam 0 gauge too.
