Hi All. good news! My ML7 was delivered today Sun. a complete restoration needed, but I am very happy. I asked this Question on another forum but did not have a reply. Are there specific colours for each model or could order the colour you want. I've seen grey green and blue, also I have seen red and cream writing. It may seem a frivilous question, as I want to do a full restoration it's important to me. Thank you. Malcolm.

painted mine using 'myford grey' from a firm on ebay

probably and most likely the wrong colour. but i dont really care. it had previously been repainted by the previous owner using hammerite black with a touch of white mixed in

it now looks 100% better than it did before and right or wrong colour, i like it. and thats what matters most….

and like you, ive seen them all colours, and i mean ML7s only, not all models which i know are different colours anyway.

Lathespares .co.uk stock grey paint and was a perfect match for my super 7.

ML7s were "Myford Grey", like the Myford Green, no doubt a shade like no other. Indeed writing was Red and White. If you are going to restore it properly you will need an "Original" Myford transfer for the belt guard!!devil

You need the 'exact' right shade or it will not cut accurately.

Thany you all for your advice, I did'nt realise how important the correct shade was to the cut, but will take great care with that also I will make sure it is British Grey, very popular in Ireland.I have found a transfer, they want £4.60 postage, people do'nt realise how heavy and fragile they are. I prefer Blue, but Grey it has to be. Thank you again. Malcolm.

if you order something from the new myford website they will send whatever it is you order in a little plastic bag with a nice sticker very similar in size and design to the original Myford sticker. peel it off carefully and use that.

again, thats what i did, being the cheapskate that wasnt gonna pay a tenner for a sticker that i would never loook at again. and it doesnt bother me in the slightest that its not 'original'. its still a colourful sticker that looks at a quick glanze to be the right one.

                      ps.
and this is where i got the paint from. http://tinyurl.com/m567hrc

I can recommend the paint from Mike Thomas at Lathespares, have used it for several purposes, and the green even made a Sealey (bright red) drill press look like a proper machine.

Paint brushes out well or can be thinned for spraying.
