        looking for a starting point for spring length and wire diameter for Lion tender compression spring.

          No 2792 for the 5in gauge titfield thunderbolt

          "The springs can be wound up from 18-gauge tinned steel wire"

          There are 10 turns on the 1/8 pin in the drawing

            "Each box can then be
            fitted to the horns, and marked, so that
            it can be replaced correctly at any future
            time. The springs are wound up from
            20-gauge tinned steel wire, a job I
            have described many times; they should
            just start to compress when the box is
            at the bottom of the hornslot. Final
            adjustment can be made under load.

              Many thanks for the info, have found a length of spring which i can cut.
