There is sometimes a temptation to overthink these things.

Now that it's freed up, surely a quick squirt in the right places with an oil can, maybe once every week or so, is all it wants. Capillary action usually takes the oil to where it's needed. I probably wouldn't even bother to replace the parts, assuming it runs ok, but then I can always think of something I'd rather spend the money on smiley

The new shaft is £4 and the bush is £2 so not really worth making but may think about making the bush from bronze.

The lathe is a BV20 from Axminster. No longer sold as superceeded.

Where are the parts available from Mick?

The hole for the screw does not go through to the oiler.

Ah. is it worth extending it?

And possibly inserting a wick to aid lube retention and distribution?

There are lots of cheap fixes/improvements that can be made to these machines, which were likely built down to a price!

Parts are available from ArcEuroTrade. The shaft is showing, out of stock. All seems to be working well now so I think regular squirting of oil is what is required.

I doubt this is the exact part, Arc have never sold the BV20 to my knowledge. It is possible that the SC2/3/4 parts won't fit.
