Hi peeps, wasn't sure where to post this so here goes, first a bit of background. Recently I was given a treadle lathe, unfortunately it was missing the treadle side of things but that's ok as I don't mind getting my hands dirty and making it electric, after a bit of googling found that a few people have used treadmill motors to power such items so I located a 1 hp motor, it came from everyone's favourite auction site, unfortunately it does t have the power supply, Sonia I find myself looking to find a squat able unit, so what I'm looking for us a 180v dc supply which would be nice is if could be controlled by pwm (pulse width modulation) to control the speed of the lathe without loosing any of the torque. So any one know where I could find a suitable power supply?
