gib strips

Looking for some advise on the HH Drill Grinding rest, in the dovetails should the Gib strips be made of EN1 or Brass?

or does it not matter?

think i did mine in brass, just cos i could and i had some there the exact right size..

I made mine from EN1A steel and it works fine but I'm sure brass will do. In fact theoretically you shouldn't use steel against steel for a sliding surface like that however that's what you have on the other side anyway.

I made mine from EN1A steel, too, but only because I didn't have any steel of the specification in the drawings in MEW 89! Seems to work perfectly satisfactorily.
