            Bob,

I have a feeling we have seen one of these before and if I am right it is a grooving tool used in woodworking. It cuts in both directions, when set correctly with one tip acting as the support for the one opposite while it shaves the bottom of the groove.

            Regards

            Brian

Yes that is what I was thinking Brian, the two parts held by the wing nut set depth and distance from an edge then the tool is drawn towards the user and the shallower angled "blade" acts like the sole of a plane and limits the depth the more vertical "blade" can cut.

Looks a bit crude for woodwork? The "cutters" look very blunt to cut wood, looks more like a slate/ tile nibbler ?

It's a Tectool – there are a lot of them about and they do work but need practice to get a clean result.

                    See the thread https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/tectool-two-cutter-plough-t16198.html
