Electric Hoist

Dear all,

I have just purchased one of the Hilka branded wire rope hoists 125/250Kg from Screwfix clearance, £64.99. Its the standard 'China' model but at least a brand that you can recognise!

The price seems very good so if anyone is interested grab one before they are gone!

I bought one of these 18 months ago (for more money) and it does exactly what it should, other than the speeds a bit quick for my use. Use it to lift on and off the mill table.

Even with the snatch block?

I'm struggling for height!! Snatch block would't work.

Ahh, different problem! Snatch block is a much better lift speed on my Aldi version. I expect yours is the same machine in a different colour.

Maybe change the line for a smaller diameter and make a smaller snatch block – depending on mass to be lifted, of course?

Or reduce the cable length to the minimum, so it is only winding on the bare drum? Every little helps.🙂

Last silly suggestion – lower your mill table?

Noticed while doing the weekly shop in Lidl this morning that their Parkside brand 125/250 kg electric hoist was in stock again – £59.99 with a 3 year warranty.
