You can get a better hammer for "free" in a packet of Walkers Toffee. wink

Ahh! But was it advertised as antique or was it just in the shop left by a workman ! Remember the story about the electrician who had his tools sold off while working in a charity shop when out for gasper

Was it a 'barn find', or 'vintage' wink 2

I went to an Antiques Fair at the NEC with the Wife on Sunday, did not see any Rolson 'stubby ' hammers, so it must be rare!winksmiley.

It was on the shelf with more 'veteran' tools, and it had a price tag on it.

There were some very nice branded specialist socket set tools at reasonable prices and ghastly old blacksmith's drills at similar prices.

I suppose that for anything in reasonable condition, it's easiest just to put a price on it and see what happens.

Full retail seems to be about £4.50 a piece, buy a box of ten at trade Profit!!

Proper 'old' tool shops seem to be a vanishing breed, there used to be a good one in Frome, but a relative says it has gone.

Local Antique Fairs can be a good source of quality old tools but you need to be lucky on the day and be wary of values.
