Non re-cyclable packaging should be either banned or heavily taxed. We could massively reduce all packaging if suppliers tried, every fortnight our recycling bin, which is pretty big, is full, and there’s only 2 of us. If it’s cost effective to re-use milk bottles, it’s cost effective to re-use beer/wine bottles, and washing up liquid etc bottles could be refilled. In France you used to be able to take your own bottle and fill it with vin ordinaire at the supermarket.

The company seems to use the weasel phrases “where possible”, and I would not be surprised if many US states or town-councils won’t take these gimmicky things either.

They appeat to be an American product. So the answer is obvious: ban their import unless or until the manufacturers use all-recoverable containers.

Though it doesn’t matter what you do, the useless litter-louts will still discard them anywhere.

If you are filling the bin you seriously need to look at your diet. Last fortnight I used one tin (peas) and one filleted meat tray, one coffee jar, one milk bottle. The rest all came in polythene bags which is not recycled here. When I get allocated an allotment the veg will be available without the plastic bags. My neighbours seem to need my bin as well as their own.
