Built-up sections for firehole ring?

I need to make a firehole ring for a copper boiler and I really don't want to buy a foot length of PB or gunmetal to do it.

I have some PB sheet; can I make a couple of rings with that and silver solder them together? The ring will then be riveted and silver soldered into the boiler.

Brian, why buy a foot when you can buy an inch from several of "our" suppliers? Much less hassle too.

Reeves used to sell short lengths of thick wall copper tube for firehole rings that could be turned to a "T" section and then squashed to an oval shape. Another method that is used on my Fowler boiler is to bend some of the foundation ring material to the shape you want and solder that between the firebox and backhead.

Looks like Reeves still sell it.

Thanks Chris and Jason;Live Steam Models also do thick walled tubing but not thick enough to take rivets but LSM do hollow sections of just the correct size and they sell it by the inch. They are also only a half hour drive away.
