      Hi Dias,

I have a bandsaw that a[ppears identical to yours. I think I bought it from Chester but I”m not sure.

My repeated repairs of the current blade have made it too short and I want to order a new one, but I”m worried about ordering one that”s too long! I”ve tried measuring with string but as there is only a little adjustment and a bit of stretch I”m not too sure I”m gettiong it right.

Do you know what size your saw takes, as it should be the same as mine.

      Thanks

If you find Swimbo’s tape measure you can fit it in place of the blade with the adjuster wound fully out and fully in so you get the measure of the thing so as to say…..

            Hi
Go onto grizzly.com select your machine then goto manuals that will tell you does the machine not have a plate on it somewhere giving you this info. or do what billy says but watch out for oil on it.

              Hi Neil!

              The manual states 1300 x 12,7 x 0.5 (in milimeters).

In fact the three saw belts I have at home (only one mounted) have the following
              dimensions: 1300 x 13 x 0.6 10/14.

              Hope this is useful

Chesters site also has the blade listed at the same size

First place I would have looked if it came from them

They also sell spare blades in 18 & 18tpi

My bandsaw(one of the 4.5″/ 4″x 6″) has a longer blade, but mine got a bit short at a time when I did’nt have a spare. I extended the adjustment slot, and saved the day. Ian S C

Sorry Neil, Didn’t intend to risk Wrath Of Swmbo with tape measure getting oily, should have said a steel tape. Don’t know if you have used bimetal bandsaw blades but they are vastly better than cheaper options, well worth the extra squids.

                    Billy.

Billy, I’d second that, also I think you will find it actually costs less in the long run. Ian S C

                        Thanks All,

I think I may have got it from Machine Mart, but they don’t list it any more – it was seeing Dias’ photo that made me think here’s an easy way of getting the size.

My trusty old Stanley tape didn’t like me trying to thread it in the machine at all, but 1300 is near enough to what the string said so I’ll go with that

My late lamented blade was a bimetal from the equally late lamented Dragon Saws. Does anyone know if they are trading again?

                        Cheers
