Vertex is excellent stuff, I've got loads of if, 14" HV rotary table, 6" HV rotary table, 6" machine vice, 40 INT spindle tooling etc etc, never had a problem with any of it !

It's reasonably priced as well,

Well good enough for professional users……………..I like it.

I've never had a Vertex lathe chuck, but I bet they are good.

Gentlemen,

This thread is wandering off the point, and is not a comparison site for various makes of chuck..

The thread was posted to warn that a safety issue exists with a product that has been supplied.

Ketan is to be praised for his honesty, and responsibility, in making public this problem, issuing a recall; and in initiating investigation and recovery, back up the supply chain, which may affect this item if retailed elsewhere.

As already said, FULL MARKS TO KETAN for this!

I totally agree, FULL MARKS TO KETAN, A GENUINE AND HONEST MAN,

If my comments regarding PB and TOS chucks has riled anyone , then I appologise, Ketan has obviously done the right thing to inform us of any problems.

I have a weird sense of humour, and sometimes have a job controlling it.

I was one of those who got a defect 80mm 4-jaw, and I happened to find this thread. I contacted Ketan earlier this week and this afternoon a replacement was delivered on my doorstep. Excellent service.
