In about a week there is a workshop clearance I'm going to.

Highlights include 7 lathes: unknown Myford, Colchester Master, Unimat 3, Hobbymat, no name small lathe x 2 and last and maybe least I don't know: an Aceria engineers lathe.

Anyone ever heard of Aceria? Google was not helpful and the usually all knowing lathes.com didn't have anything. I'm gonna see it in a week but any backstory or reputation it may have would be good to know.

          .

Aciera [note the spelling] is a superb Swiss make of Milling Machines, etc. … 'though I'm not aware of them making an "engineers lathe".

            Not Aciera?

although Tonys site doesn't have any lathes of that name….,

I'd been wondering what it was as well but the online "catalogue" is neither use nor ornament to get any more information on any of the lots. Might see you in Congleton then Rainbowssmiley

It is just conceivable that the lathe is a Schaublin, with Aciera collets.

… They both use the same style. http://www.small-lathes.co.uk/Schaublin-Collets/W20-Type-Collets/C13-12-1-0.htm

The online catalogue suggests that pictures may be available online the day before the auction

I have an Aciera bench drill, a superb machine that goes up to 11000 rpm with pulleys.

They do make milling machines and lathes.

Go to Muller machines who sell and re-furbish a lot of these machines. It maybe that they are cloned Schaublin machines?

Curses! There I was hoping that no one else would be there and I could get them all for £5 minimum bid.

That's also my experience. I've been to a couple but the prices were far too high. Better to sit at home and search eBay.

                                            A question for the Moderators:

Unless I am mistaken … The title of this thread has been changed

                                            [Aceria has become Aciera]

                                            Why ?

By 'correcting' the spelling to Aciera; the opening question, and several of the answers have been rendered meaningless. … The typo was the very essence of the question.

May I respectfully suggest that the mis-spelling should be kept in the title of the thread [perhaps along with the correction] … It is quite a common typo, and; if retained in the title, perhaps the next enquirer will find this thread via their favourite search engine.

Aceria or Aciera, it is a very nice f1 and they are a pleasure to work with. The machine it self is repainted with the cabinet having the original colour, but who cares if it is in reasonable condition. Niko.

Appeared mechanically solid but the electricals had been gutted.

Was that purpose made watchmakers lathe a gear cutting machine? Thats my best guess.
