A useful contact for leadscrew repairs

I found this ad on ebay UK which could be of great help for people who need leadscrew and nut repairs, but are not in a position to do it themselves. I have no interest in this except for wanting to help members to keep their machines running.

Yes, only the telephone number is required, but the whole ad needs to be read first to be sure it is of any use.

I posted his telephone number because epay might pull the auction, if they realised he was simply using it as an advert for his services.🙂. Somehow, I doubt if anyone (sensible) would shell out £15 for a tube they may not need…. if they read the auction.

There was feedback from satisfied customers for what its worth.

There have been regular threads on the subject of leadscrews, and I notice that many people are not technically able to carry out restoration of this nature and its a shame that imperial threads are not so easy to get hold of this side of the pond. Anything coming from the States carries a premium just on the postage.

I would be a little concerned about the accuracy of a lead screw made on a machine that has already worn out its cross slide.

There was someone offering a similar service on Ebay several years ago and two of my friends used him for replacement leadscrew nuts. He did an excellent job for very reasonable prices.

I don't know if the current offer is by the same person, I wil lcheck with my friends to see if they can remember who it was!
