It's that blasted screwdriver fairy that collects screwdrivers, spanners and even pencils!

My fairy seems to have a taste for allen keys. I swear just the other day I was using a 5mm allen key on the bench. Next time I wanted to use it, just three or four minutes later, it was over by the drill press. Go figure.

I have been to the shop and bought another tool because I can't find the one I know I have somewhere, currently cannot find box of ER25 collets or the adapter plate for 3 jaw chuck to fit on rotary table. I think I probably have a mischevious elf rather than a fairy in my workshop (or I could just be disorganised).

I have a black hole in my workshop that small parts are drawn to. Just after I decide not waste any more time trying to find a lost part and have finished making another it spits the original one out at my feet.

                Regards

I have often spent more time looking for a mislaid part than it took me to make another even after taking care to put the original where I can easily pick it up. Yes, it then appears from a place where I've already looked three times. Colin

Nice one Bill, I was just about to put a copy up on the noticeboard, but I've put it down somewhere ! )

My allen keys are made of "quantum steel". They teleport themselves to another dimension and sometimes reappear at random intervals. It's probably related to experiments at the Institute for Quantum Computing at University of Waterloo just up the road from me.

                      Merry Christmas to all here.

My neighbour, who restores vintage cars, has a really tidy, clean workshop. It's VERY annoying – I feel quite inferior!

Makes me feel so much better knowing others have the same problem.

The worst of course, is the item you just put down, it's staring you in the face, but you still spend ages searching for it.

Geoff – Drawer organizing progressing in leaps and bounds, not today though.

No – it's constant all year round, mind you, as soon as one Dec 25th has gone perhaps they start straight away on the next one…………..

I expect that the upcoming million mile service on the sleigh will need lots of tools and spares.

No doubt the original parts will not be available, therefore our types of workshop will be needed.

Think I am probably immune at the moment because the workshop power supply has been condemned, suppose that makes me an armchair model engineer!
