Hi Vikki,
You need to be aware there were many accesories available for Model K machines and each will increase the worth of such machines, how much type copy, engraving cutters and cup holders, some extras were as follows.
Cutter grinding machine.
Microscope.
Rotary and tilting table 6" diameter indexing with various fitments.
Javelin etcher for etching in HSS and other hard or soft metals.
Collet attachment to fit direct on spindle enables light milling using 1/8" to 3/8" collets, uses a head fixing frame
so milling movements X&Y are by engraved handles.
Large working envelope for milling.
Spindle speeds up to 18,000 rpm as standard.
As Rik says most engraving is now done by computer controlled engraving machines but there is still a place for more specialised one-off jobs that the model K can do comfortably, I used one for 15 years when making electrical control panel labels and special signs, sold mine as a basic machine with copy and cutters for £250, the accessories were sold individually and all made good money.
