hi everyone I am about to machine the axel boxes for the Simplex and I am asking the forum which is the best way to do it. They are rough gun metal castings that are two in one ie, need to be cut in half. There also needs to be a 1/8" machined on the inner edge to fit into the axel holes in the frames. One problem is that the castings need maching on the inside of the horn to fit the axel boxes. What is the suggested rpm for maching gun metal castings and generally how to go about cleaning the rough castings. Any help would be appreciated thank you John

Hi Russell thank you for sending me the articles concerning the machining oh the axel boxes. These are very good and will help a lot when I do get around to machining the axels, what I was after was the best way to machine the axel hornes. I haven't seen anything on You Tube or any where else and I no that these have to perpendicular as to the smooth alignment of the axels and boxes. Thank you once again John Kinnane.
