I'm sure we have many very talented engineers to whom this will seem elementary but can someone please tell me what the gear reduction is for "2nd gear" and confirm the value for 1st gear? In this example the sun gear and the planet gears all have 18 teeth and the drum has 54 teeth.This is from a 1910 article which tries, without much success where I am concerned, to explain 3-speed hubs on veteran motorcycles

I use windows XP and an out of date browser, which probably helps

Right click the image, copy image location, then set it up on the icon next to the camera icon in here

Confirm 4:1 for first, and think it's 4:3 for second.

Chas did you try to open an album to put your photos in, if not go to the green line at the top of the page, and click on the camera labled albums and follow the instructions. the photos need to be 640 x 480 and jpg only.

Hi also Ian SC,Thanks also! I will give your method a go next time I need to include a graphic, I am a bit wary of cluttering up the forum with trial images

And Hi to Ady1 too! I am using Windows 7 with no interest in updating to windows 8: I just can't see the point of putting myself through a steep learning curve to finish up in the same place that I was in with Windows 7. Touch screens in general – I hate them with a passionAn age thing I suspect.
