Sealant for bolting a dome casting to a model boiler

Can anyone recommend a suitable sealant for bolting down a dome casting onto to a 3.5ins gauge boiler flange with the customary thin (0.020″) model engineers gasketng material between the mating surfaces. I have tried red Hylomar with limited success but wonder if there are suitable alternatives out there. All suggestions gratefully received.
