I have watched lots of You Tube video’s of workshop reviews and tours but this must be one of the best. As we all know, the cost of a workshop is not just in the machine tools but the cost of tooling can outway the cost of the capital machines significantly. This guy (an American) must have spent a fortune. Well worth watching.

Watched the video. What an unholy mess! Yes, there’s an awful lot of kit there, but no sign that any of the machines have been used recently. Neither is there any indication that any projects are under way. I wouldn’t want to be the one to downsize that place when it “goes silent”.

I watched that video when it was first posted. And as far as I know, most or possibly all of that has been auctioned off by now. Yes an amazing amount of machines and tooling. But far too much for the available space to easily use a lot of it.

I think a previous report on HSM forum of a workshop that was two barns full of equipment was collected by a machine tool salesman who just acquired the machines he was replacing. In a similar vein I know of an extensive vintage tractor collection in the UK that was just a farmer with the right connections to other farms (through his animal feed business) who picked up their obsolete machines over decades.
