Connecting Rod Problem

Hi all,

Just finished the bearings for my 3 1/2 guage loco LILLA,Fitted them OK and when they are on the engine i have a couple of tight spots,I inherited this project part made from my father who had put the eccentrics on the axles and locked to place with dummy rods.

Has anyone any idea how to easily get rid of the tight spots or am i wasting my time and just bite the bullet and pull an eccentric off and reset?

I may be a little fussy as the rolling chassis wheels and conn rods actually all work OK without locking up just pulling back and too on my workshop carpet,Would running in solve the problem?

Any thoughts or tips appreciated.
