      Hi,

Firstly, let me confess I'm super new to this. For me second project I've decided to have a go at the little Demon, I know its a crazy second project.

My question to wise members of this forum is, when looking at the cam of inlet value 6 and 7 they look identical. Given none of the other inlet valves are identically timed does anyone know why this is the case?

          Hi Carl

Perhaps it's because the cylinders served by these valves are on different banks, typically 1 bank will have cylinders 1,3,5 & 7 and the other cylinders 2,4,6,8
The valve timings will depend on cylinder firing order.

Not the best of photo's but here is the finished cam shaft and the two cams lying in the same directiondemon cam.jpg. I elected to fabricate it rather that go the turning fixture route. If you have any questions about the build email Steve Huck his address is with the drawings, he's very approachable.

Cylinder numbering on cummins V8s is 1,2,3,4 on the right bank, 5,6,7,8 on the left bank ! Noel
