I've already posted in the wanted section with no joy so far but it's still early days.

So where else is the best place to look, I'am after a Boxford aud in good condition with some accessories and tools.

eBay is the obvious. Try Gumtree too.

Good choice of lathe! wink 2 Its worth looking at local ads too, they sometimes turn up cheap!

                Whereabouts are you located, roughly.

I live in the East Midlands but realise I might need to travel to get the machine I'm after.

**LINK** have items for sale, and the homeworkshop website, too.

Plenty of machinery dealers, out there, that may have what you want? Google is your friend, for those.

A good choice of lathe, but you may be looking a while for exactly what you want. Better, perhaps, to be more amenable to other good lathes, if the availability arises.

Also regularly look in the ‘for sale’ section. Not all sellers peruse the ‘wanted’ section!

To late i know but there was probably the best condition Boxford AUD long bed lathe with lots of tooling around today. Its in the for sale section on Lathes.co.uk, it sold last week in 2 days of the add being placed for £2500.

I will second the widen your choice option, to give you more chance of finding a good buy. Accessories are expensive if bought individually, a machine with as much kit as possible is a way to go, if the machine is sound, be prepared to travel.

In the days of the demise of Technical Colleges machines could be had wink with 3 and 4 jaw chucks, face plate, catch plate, coolant, low voltage lighting, taper turning, fix stead, travelling steady, gap bed. etc.

                          Good Luck

                          Pete

I have had both a A model and an AUD and think the A is the one to look for.

Sooner or later You will VFD the thing and it is easier on the A where the spindle v -belt disc is bigger .More torque

I saw this earlier by chance. It's a badly written advert on gumtree but this guy is selling a Boxford ME10 if that's any good:
