        Hello,

I have just purchased some Timken taper roller Bearings, on opening the boxes just for a check, I was suprised to see stamped on the cones and cups, different factory locations, the cups were made one in the uk the other India the cones one in Canada one in India, mixed up

I am not sure if I should be concerned about the fake possibility,

Should the boxes have holograms on them? for authenticity, something I read on the internet

Lee, the best answer will come from Timken's themselves, as they seem to very anti fake bearings. If you go onto the Timken website here, look along the top for "Tool & Guides" that gives you a drop down menu the top line of which is "Engineers". Click on that and to the right of the page that comes up you'll see a heading "Contact us". Clicking on that will open a contact page where you can e-mail then with a query. about what you've got. I'd hope that a company like Timken would take the question seriously enough to answer.

If they ARE fake prepare yourself for questions about suppliers and sources.

          Keith
