2 1/2″ G Schools Class:- Mystery ?

A friend of a friend asked me if a knew anything about 2 1/2" G Schools Class model that he has:- apparently it's complete except for the injector, this led me to do a little research.

I found reference to a 3 1/2" LBSC Rodine design and apparently he did a O gauge that He called Bat and a 1 3/4" G that he called Girton but I can't find any reference to a 2 1/2" gauge, that makes me think that my friend has the gauge wrong, He's bringing the loco over in a few weeks time for me to have a look at, in the mean time can any one shed any light on who could have designed it.
