Ok I'm ready to be called numpty but the gearbox on the apron needs filling is the filler the hex plug on the left? The manual dosen't really show.

I've gently tried a allen key in to see but for a filler plug it seems extremly tight.

I think you're right. My WM280 is similar:

Same sized allan screw on the right side lower head-stock for topping up the gearbox.

Be brave: mine was quite tight first time I undid it.

Thats the one .Ok Thanks for that Dave. It just seemed really tight and i didnt want to animalize it.

Why am I not surprised it's not in the manual? Most of the useful information isn't. At least with the WM240 & WM250 anyway. Both were several iterations out of date! OK for those familiar with the fine art of metal turning I guess, but what about the learners?

If you can't get the plug undone you can fill via one of the screw holes that hold the thread dial indicator to the carriage, one nearest the front being best option.
