                  A great video, thanks. When you heated it to red heat then quenched with water, how hard does that make the metal? I am wondering what the optimal hardness on an anvil should be…

                    I do not know how to tell you the degree of hardness of the anvil, but it was hard enough not to scratch or sink. Nor was it too hard to break.

                      I imagine that quenching that way would give a tough skin, but a flexible interior.
