Hi, I've picked up a part built MW 14xx, boiler checked out fine at club(new, unused, but no paperwork with it) and the chassis is fully built, just requires about 60% of the superstructure building. I tried running it on air but it was obvious the valves were not right, a bit of fiddling has got it running roughly, but it would be nice to know the method of adjustment that MW presumably gave in the original build instructions(which I don't have) – all the methods I've read about seem to rely on knowing the dimensions of the valve and port face beforehand.

I'm building a Model works kit for a 57XX ….. but it has a 14xx boiler ! However just a different kind of challenge really

I similarly had problems with the valve setting …

Did you find any guide for setting yours up ?
