Good evening All!
Recently purchased a second super 7 minus a few bits (leadscrew, most gears,saddle/apron) for the bargain price of £275 with the vision of replacing my old sight glass headstock with the more modern one.
The bed is actually in much better condition than my current one so i have stripped the motorising assembly off so i can give it all some much needed love and eventually a repaint, i have left the headstock in place as i see no need to remove it unless anyone would advise otherwise for any reason?
I assume that my screw cutting gearbox can just be taken from my old and bolted straight onto the bed with its leadscrew and carriers?
while i have it stripped is there anything worth replacing to save mucking around at a later date?
It also came with a Myford cut off slide and lever collet holder, I don't see the cut off slide being much use to me and after some research i am astonished at the price of the MA99E collets!….£20-30 a piece…why!?

KR,
Matty
