Hi, does anyone know where I might find a drawing/design, for a whistle that incorporates a valve in the base below the bell. It is the design of the valve that I don't understand – the sort that has a pin operated by a lever. Commercial items aren't to the right scale for what I want. Cheers, Andy

Most are just like a car engine valve – tapered seat and a matching angle on teh head of teh valve, valve stem passes up through teh whistle body where it can be pressed down. What scale are you looking for?

Thanks, that makes sense except that the valve is horizontal. There must be some complicated chambers to get the inlet and the outlet vertical. 4 inch scale is too small and 6 inch slightly too big.

As Jason says, just like a car engine valve, hope this helps

Michael's drawing is what you need not unlike a stopcock where the water pressure keeps the valve on its seat. I was thinking of a vertical one

Worth looking about a bit as like the engines whistles came in different sizes so you may find a 6" scale one for a tractor is smaller than one for a 6" road loco.

Thanks. I know what I need to achieve now. I couldn’t find anything through Google.
