Which Qctp for mini lathe?

Just out of interest & not to be used normally i took 3 mm DOC ( 6mm off diameter ) on mild steel on my Sherline lathe, this was with ccmt 060204 carbide inserts. I was amazed with the Sherline that it could do this & left a very good finish indeed with no chatter marks on the material at all. This was also using one of the cheapo Chinese aluminium QCTP .

Update from me… I got the Arceuro 250-000 toolpost and its perfect Had a good friend of mine make a 6mm thick square washer 44mm square, from mild steel. It's then a straight swap. The Warco wm180 or the Chester DB7vs (mine) has a thick base where the toolpost shaft is screwed into. I looked at the 250-000 when it arrived and ruled out machining that. Thought maybe I could remake the base… but that is part of the compound. The square 6mm thick washer is perfect.

I have one from – a reputable supplier. I bought it after i sold my 5” Boxford lathe to a very nice chap in the Derby area. I got carried away on the day and let him have the lot tool holders and everything. The copy one i bought has been ok but i do not trust it. it does not seem to feel right. It locks the holders but seems as if you could pull some more on the lever. Strange

Anyhow recently on this web site in the for sale adds a chap had a boxford one for sale so i bought it and hopefully i will be back to normal 😳🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
