      316 stainless on ptfe is how it is done. 316 stainless is required due to the high concentrations of chlorides in seawater, and in a pool too.

          I believe Tufnol in rod form [is that Carp?] is another alternative and has been used in ship's bilges when lignum vitae became hard to source for prop shaft supports which often run submerged in bilge water. It might be cheaper than PTFE for example.

          'Agricultural' clearances would I think be needed to allow for swelling but I don't suppose that would matter much for your application, precision is hardly very important in this instance I imagine
