Please don't do that, these businesses need our support during times of crisis

I would like to wish Helen a speedy recovery. As a full time boiler maker (not touting as I make them for marine and stationary engines) I can say with confidence that you will not be able to buy a better made boiler anywhere in the world than by WS, and that is why you have to wait so long. You can rush a boiler build but you cant rush quality.

I have had two of Helen's boilers, both are works of art. I cannot speak too highly of the workmanship or service.

We are lucky in the West Country in that we have several excellent boilersmiths to order from and the standard is uniromly high from all of them.

Sorry to bump an old(ish) thread, but I was looking up Western Steam and was curious as to the prices.

On their website they say they can give an instant quote for the standard boilers (such as for the Clayton 2" under type, Suffolk Dredger, Simplicy roller etc) but they don't put the prices on their website. As I'm just looking out of curiosity, it seems a bit of a waste of their time to email/call! Is there a price list out there, even if it just an indication of cost. I'm guessing that there is a lot of variation in price of the boilers, after all the Clayton is small, the Suffolk is large but simple, and the Simplicy is quite complex.

                      Think about it.

The price of copper etc fluctuates wildly. Try asking a plumber for a quote for a new heating system for 12 months time – you wont get one

                        Hi Puffa.

You need to call them, Helen and Geoff are very helpful, and as Dave says they quote virtually on a daily basis due to the copper price vaiation.

I did initially contact them by email, and got a quote back virtually straight away, they will also discuss the way forward with unobtainable sheet sizes.

BUT, please be aware that quality takes time and there is quite a long delivery forecast.

                        Regards

Thanks guys, I clearly underestimated how much copper prices change!

(As for talking to a plumber, most seem to use plastic pipe these days, cost and easy of use are both reasons for that though)
