      I think it depends on the native or preferred units in the country of manufacture.

      We have often discussed here that UK-built metric lathes often use ACME form but with metric pitch (and imperial OD).

      In a far East metric country, they are likely to use trapezoidal form but imperial pitch for their imperial leadscrews (and metric OD).

      Doing so hugely streamlines the production process and keeps the accountants happy.

        My Boxford 280 uses trapezoidal. I bought taps to make new nuts, one LH one RH – currently on my roundtuit list – relatively cheaply (under £20 each), EBay USA and UK in my case.

        If you find what size the screws are do a search for the taps, alternatively you could single point thread them
