Does anyone know what the thread spec is for the love caking screw on the crash ss slide dial on a Myford ML7 ?

The screw measures 3.47mm, but I can't seem to find a match on either metric or sae thread gauges.

The screw that is currently in there engages in a m4 nut, but a m4x0.7 bolt does not go into the dial…

          It's probably 4BA

**LINK** if you are not familiar with them.

blush I don't recognise some of the phrases in your opening paragraph.

Auto correct strikes again! Locking screw on cross slide becomes love caking screw on the crash ss slide. Moral of this is to read what is written before pressing the send button.

haha, bloody auto correct, and the ipad turned the photo upside down

This is not original, but a modification by a user. Suggest you try a 4 BA.

                        Eben,

Screw a thick match tail into the hole and use that as a transfer to try thread gauges against.

                        Regards

                        Brian
