        Ola' peoples.

I have uploaded a video to Youtube of my question as it's simpler than trying to explain and saves confusion for my simple request.

        Cheers, Nick

You could use ther same type of fitting that is used on Locos and traction engines to tell what level the boiler is at, most of the ME suppliers will have water gauges.

They are not hard to make and you could use perspex/acrylic tube rather than glass

Another alternative would be to cut a slot in the side of the tank and cover with a sheet of perspex and cover plate with matching slot secure with some self tappers or nuts and bolts. bit of sealant or gaskets between and away you go. I think JS posted something similar recently, can't find the text but the photos should do.

            Thanks Jason, excellent idea.! laugh

Think I have some sheet perspex somewhere.

Will I have to give mine a nice new coat of paint also though. Is this a legal requirement.? wink

            Cheers, Nick

An easy solution is to drill a hole to take a 15mm cold water storage tank fitting then fit a length of clear hose and then clip it in some convenient place on the machine, cost is minimal and it could also double up as a drain.
