      Hi can any one help i am building my black 5 boiler i want to use a 8mm gas valve but cannot see how they can be connected to normal regulator handle.

      Can anyone tell me how they connect please i am told they are often used but no more info.

      I know you have to change lever which is easy but how on earth do you conect from their please.

          ive used them to great effect. fitting is all down to the access you have but basically remove the existing arm and build a parallel linkage

            Hi i cant visulise how it can work using normal regulator lever.

            I can see some fit into smoke box but i want the normal regulator control.

            do you have a diagram as i am still building the Boiler.

            I am at the stage of ready to fit the Stays.

              My only drawing isn't compatible with this site so I cant upload it. In a nutshell you need to end up with a regulator linkage with a square end, and make a boss to fit into the valve which accepts the square end. I take it that you want the regulator inside the boiler? Its a fidly job, but I locate and secure the valve via the inside of the steam dome with the steam exiting via steambox in normal position. I will try to sketch on other software.

                The boiler inspectorors at our club suggest using a screw type regulator saying much simpler and more reliable.

                What do you think i already bought the Valve
