I'm looking for a Q/Release Trigger spring for a Record 52 1/2 Vice as mine has snapped.

It's the flat coiled spring steel one.

I would be much obliged if anyone has one for sale, knows where I can pick one up or suggest where I can get one made as a one off withouit breaking the bank?

      Thanks very much in advance.

If you have no luck with the direct replacement, how about measuring the thickness/width of the spring and obtaining an equivalent clock spring from one of the horological suppliers and cutting off the required length ?

Have you tried Irwin the manufacturer.

Thank you for the replies gents.

The spring is a bit of a beast so I’m wondering if a clock spring might struggle with the workload but I will look in to it.

I’m also going to contact Irwin in the morning with tightly crossed fingers. You’ll no doubt be aware that they don’t make ‘em like they used to so I’m hoping that they still carry the old parts, as some are showing as discontinued.

Best wishes and I’ll let you know….

You could use piano wire or with a bit of engineering to provide a lever and anchor point a 'regular' spring.
