        Hi all.
Bought a quick change drill chuck today. It’s a Morse three taper with a sleeve which slides up and down, acting on three ball bearings that hold a separate Morse one tool holder in place. The tool holder can be removed and swapped while the spindle is still running so speeding up machining.
I bought six holders so I can have different drills or chucks ready to put in the drill without stopping it.
Must be an industrial device but I hope it will prove useful in my small shop. Images are in my album unusual tools.

It would be good if you could tell us the name or make of this very useful looking device. If you bought six holders presumably they must be standard items.

            Hi,

It looks like an archer quick change chuck on steroids.

I had one with only one holder smile p and decided to trade it for beer tokens which were more useful.

This one looks similar to the one I had.

            Regards.

            David.

The chuck is made by Narex a make I have not come across. It's well made and they had a load of redundant new old stock with mess 2,3 and 4 chucks with corresponding Morse taper holders in boxes of two.

I put different size drill chucks in the holders for illustration but I can use my Morse 1 drill set if need be.

The unit can be used to swap drills without stopping the spindle but I only date do this at low revs.
