      Hi Everyone,

Thanks for allowing me to join the forum. I’m a motorsport and rc plane enthusiast & lucky enough to own a Myford Super 7 lathe. Looking forward to engaging in the forum, I’ve got a lot of engineering to learn !!

      Kind regards

      Julian

        Welcome to the forum, Julian.

Not sure whereabouts in Devon you are but there are model engineering societies in Plymouth, Newton Abbot, and Exeter. Not sure about North Devon – that’s a foreign country to us in the south of the county! Any of them would be glad to see you, I’m sure, although I can only speak directly for Newton Abbot (but I am the chairman!)

North Devon Model Engineers are still meeting once a month and would welcome new members.

Also some of the Men’s Sheds have model engineer connections.

Our local Mens shed only opens for 3 hours once a week. I thought they would be open every day and for longer hours.

Few Sheds can open every day. Depends on premises, number of people wanting to join in, and crucially people to take responsibility and run the session. We still don’t know roughly where Julian is and Devon is a big area. Of course he may just be stuck into reading The Amateur’s Lathe or back issues of ME.
