Looking good Bob but your builder has it easy, the next set of wheels I'm going to build will gave 14 rivits per strake not 4 and he did not have to twist separate strakes to the helix angle.

Interesting that they used a snap head on teh outside of the strakes unlike traction engines which used CSK heads, I suppose they needed a bit of grip in all that mud.

The snap heads will wear(full size gun) quicker than counter sunk, if they are to giove extra traction, they would be better if counter sunk with a raised head, just thinking 12" the foot. Ian S C

Yeah the would but i shall put rubber between each set of rivets. In real life they rivetted the plates round a solid rubber tyre i think.
