I have just purchased a batch of 5 Myford T bars for use the cross slide slots made from PLA resin as opposed to the more usual steel. They are certainty a nice fit in the cross slide but I would ibe interested to hear of other users views.

Arn’t the plastic bars for those users that can’t bear the thought of getting swarf in their tee slots, they do not take the place of metal ones that can be threaded and used as long T nuts.

That’s what I always thought. And always wondered why you would care about swarf in your t slots. Ii just clean mine out with a piece of aluminium flat bar cut to fit the T. But perhaps I’m missing something?

The T-bars will only be good for filling the gap. PLA is weak and the inside of the bar will be hollow as in this example from Thingiverse.

Forum speed sems to be up and down at the moment I’ll let the back room boys know if it is still playing up in the morning.

Cedric, I have seen photos of people covering a large amount of their machines with Clingfilm particularly if machining cast iron so the Tee slot fillers are probably quite mild. I suppose you might be able to us ethem to hold chip guards or other non loaded items.

I prefer a choccy biscuit with my Tee but understand you might prefer a bit of the hard stuff.
