Hello all, I have taken out the headstock spindle to replace broken bullwheel. On looking at the bearings I see there is no grease, I have read they come prepacked with grease also the oil nipple to lubricate them uses oil only. Should I repack the bearings with grease or just use the oil nipple to lubricate? Rgds DW.

I can't see what purpose grease would serve since the oil can get to the bearing from the nipple. If the bearing was greased on assembly then I think the oil would wash the grease out with time.

          Cheers,

          Rod

Just use oil, it's worked on my super 7 for 40 plus years.
