      Hi all,

I have a Chester champion 20v mill. Was cutting a 5/16 slot and had to stop, then motor wont restart, no smoke or smell just dead, rev counter light was still on so not fuse. Was wondering if nvr switch could be the problem.

Electrically iam pretty useles. Does anyone know of any good repair books that would cover this type of Chinese mill.Thanks. Ronnie.

Whereabouts in the country are you, nearest big town is more than adequate. If we know this then there might be somebody close who can help. I am in the Reading area and if close enough would be willing to help.

Hi, On my champion mill there are 2x8amp fuses at the back of the switch box, one of these has probably blown, easy to check. Regards Pat

Fuses are a possibility, but so are the safety interlocks. Or perhaps you have not moved the motor speed control back to minimum speed?

Hi, I live in Clarkston on the south side of Glasgow. Because there was no noise or smell I thought that it might be a switch or the like. The Chester owners manual is useless. I thought there might be a repair manual for this type of mill. Several years ago I modified a standard Taiwanese power feed that Chester did not supply and very successful it was, this unit fitted several other mill/drills. As to fuses there is only one on the rear panel, I think it's 2 amp, it blew twice before and a whisker of wire from light single strand cable sufficed. Iam fairly good on the mechanical side but not electrical. I am a retired maintenance turner. Thanks for the advice. If anyone knows of any books please let me know on. 01416443914. Thanks again. Ronnie.
