I am planning to use a hydrostatic lubricator on my 5" gauge 2-8-0.

Can anyone tell me where to get a small quantity of glass tube about 1/2" to 3/8" in diameter. I cannot find it any of the suppliers lists.

Reeves do some at 12mm dia x 20mm and also at 18mm dia.

              see **LINK**

Having obtained the tube, how do you cut it into short lengths? I wish to make some model drip feed lubricators from1/4" diameter glass tube.

                Regards Maurice.

GS Model supplies list it in their online catalogue under Misc Parts > Lubricator Sight Feed Glasses

Maurice at 1/4" you can roll it on the bench with a stanley knife blade held where you want the cut, this will score the surface all round much like a glass cutter, you can then snap the tube.

If you have one then a wet diamond tile saw works well on the larger diameters too.

                        Good Morning All

I am told by one of our members who is a keen fan of the Great Way Round that Perspex tube with a 2mm wall works well and is readily available on Ebay. Never tried it myself but intend to fit hydrostatic lubricators to my Pansy.

                        Regards

                        Peter
