Just got some scrap steel plate and a box full of aluminium tubing off my local freegle group, Can ali be used in ME projects?

Sorry all, really not trying to be dense, but what on earth is a “freegle group” (and even more to the point, am I likely to find it/them here in Switzerland?). I really have nothing at all against freebie materials.

Freegle is a yahoo group where local groups are formed to give away or request items people do not use anymore which may be dumped, could be topsoil or in my case a 1974 aircooled Yamaha motorbike loads of metal, tools etc.
