Interesting results from Jason. Clearly shows how important appropriate set up for your machines is.

Bit of a digression, but for smoke box doors on 2 of my locos I have approximated a curve with 3 low height conical sections. You have to look very closely to tell.

An old book, but some interesting methods.

This link should take you to a PDF Book in my Gallery.

Similar to Ian P’s method, I made a large radius attachment. The only setting up requirement is that the pivoting radius arm is straight when the tool is on centre (unless the work is required to have a central flat, or point, or be toroidal).

              Nice job Charles.

Certainly smarter than the one I recall seeing on the internet.

Love the way it keeps all the gubbins at the back out of the way of work holding and swarf. Worth a write up in the magazine I think.

Yes quite agree its MUCH tidier than mine and like the fact that its out of the way where mine is in an awkward place right under the work

<p style=”text-align: left;”>An excellent attachment Charles, I guess most of us could make something similar from photo but I would agree with Clive. It would make a good article for the magazine, certainly better than my template method.</p>
